Review

I have been a fan of Paige Toons books for a while now and she is an author that I automatically reach for when a new book is released. So I was honoured when I was invited to join this blog tour as it was a dream come true.

We meet Leah who is a gentle soul but feels so lost and  feels she doesn't really fit in at home or school. Her adorable parents Carrie and Ivan are dedicated foster carers who foster children from all ages and Leah is supportive of them and helps out on the Alpaca farm. The farm brought its own charm to the book which was amazing.
The family foster teenager  George who is one of the main characters.  I have personally worked with children in the care system and could feel Georges frustration leap off the page. I sympathised with his loss of being separated form his sister, living with another family he didn't know and  the emotional turmoil from teenage years through to adulthood that stays

Whilst in school along comes Theo and makes up the trio of Leah, George and Theo. Theo's arrival brings a lot of questions; why has he been moved from boarding school? who is?.  Also is this trio based on friendship or love and can both be combined harmoniously together.

As they are now adults, Leah returns to Yorkshire with daughter Emilie and this opens and heals certain wounds. George returns to repay his thanks to the family but Theo remains absent. I don't want to say anymore as it will give away spoilers but be prepared!!

This book did relate to the fact that family means different things to different people and situations. Another aspect that I loved was that every character we met played some significant role in this story.  The past and present chapters kept you on your toes and I loved it.

👏   As always Paige Toon delivered another emotional rollercoaster of a book.  👏
