 Synopsis:

Gabby Dixon is dead. That's news to her...

Recently divorced and bereaved, Gabby Dixon is trying to start a new chapter in her life.

As her new life begins, it ends. On paper at least.

But Gabby is still very much alive. As a woman who likes to be in control, this situation is deeply unsettling.

She has two crucial questions: who would want her dead, and why?

Enter Peddyr and Connie Quirk. husband-and-wife private investigators. Gabby needs their help to find out who is behind her sudden death.

The truth is a lot more sinister than a simple case of stolen identity.

Over Her Dead Body is a 'what if' tale full of brilliantly drawn characters, quirky humour and dark plot twists

Review

It's an understatement for me to say how much I loved this book. One aspect I thoroughly enjoyed about the book is that it doesn't run away with the plot. At every step I felt like I was with Gabby and going through the motions of her trying to find out who is responsible for portraying her as being dead.

The book in the first few chapters starts off with Gabby finding out from her bank that her account has been stopped as she is apparently deceased, soon has her phone  stops working and then her car licence. So who is going to great lengths to do so and why?  Is it a case of identity fraud or something more sinister and deeper?

To help Gabby along the way she hires private investigator couple Peddyr and Connie Quirk and they surely lived up to their surname and I enjoyed the characters forming. The Quirks aren't the typical investigators you have in mind or read in books before; they have a wittiness about them but also bring calmness to the narrative.

This book has so many complex layers but the characters are well developed that you don't get lost. At times you feel like you've got it and the there is another twist that just throws you off completely.

This was my first time reading an AB Morgan book and I was not left disappointed. I cannot wait for the Quirk Files books to continue.
