Review
I simply loved this book and this is not even an exaggeration!!! Why haven't a read a Jane Fallon book before??
Georgia and Lydia became friends during art school and became even close after the tragic death of Lydia's parents in a car accident. As they got older their personal lives went in different paths. Lydia is single and in a job she doesn't like and Georgia is married to Nick and 2 children and an accomplished author. They have been together in highest and lowest points of their lives but under the surface there does lie some envy and unspoken words that bubble away until one point it is finally given a voice in a fragmented situation.
Seemingly Georgia online persona "Patricia' learns more than she bargains for as Lydia begins to confide in her, not knowing who it actually is. Georgia definitely gets more than she bargains for, in her good will help when she begins to learn from Lydia about her husbands infidelity with a fellow co-worker.
It was relevant to link Lydia portraying her life on social media and the effect it can have on someones mental health. The characters were very well developed and I really enjoyed the flip between chapters of Georgia and Lydia and the timing was perfect as it held suspense. I also like the other characters such as Anne Marie and Harry, that provide subplots to the whole story.
There were plenty of suspense, revenge, female friendships that vary, rivalry, jealousy and also a touch mischievousness and humour which was perfectly balanced and pushed it to a 5 star review.
Now all I need to do is make a list of all Jane Fallons book and make a start. Any recommendations what to read first?
