Review

Wow, this book is definitely full or twists and gripping from the start!

We get to meet  Matt and Imogen and their 4 year old daughter Ashley who have decided to swap the fast paced city life of London for a much quieter suburban life in Surrey. After an incident at Matts work that lost him his job and Imogen having doubts about her husband, a move will surely start to make it better or will it? Matt seems to adjust quickly and pretty easily as he puts most his energy into his new job. Imogen on the other hand, isn't doing so well and questions if the suburbs is really for her. She meets Nancy her new neighbour who is kind and welcomes her into the neighbourhood. Nancy is a widow and but has 15 year old Ruby  at home but makes the upmost efforts to help Imogen. She brings her cake, always has a big smile and soon they develop a very close friendship, but has she trusted Nancy way too quickly??

Nancy makes the most shocking of accusations that jolts Matt and Imogen's relationship. But who is telling the truth and who is lying. Could it be true ?? or is Nancy hiding more secrets? where did it go wrong? Is Nancy's' politeness and kindness just a rouse as the story develops you soon learn about her sly ways.  As much as Imogen wants to stay clear of Nancy, she doesn't have any other support and with her health declining she seems to end up back with Nancy. Is this by choice or influential?

I really like the structure of the book as you start at the end of the story and it works by the events unfolding that lead to it.  Also it is told in the three perspectives of the main characters. And if you think you know what will happen by the time you finish reading the book,  trust me you don't. It was superb and took me by surprise!!!

This is one amazing unsettling psychological thriller with an excellent plot. I found myself asking lots of questions and as the story unfolds you learn about them and I think the author did well the timing of the plot.
