Review

This was my first Libby Page book and I adored it. I really want to read the other books now too

I loved this book for so many reasons as the author encapsulated the dreamy island, love, friendship, sadness, humility and kindness beautifully throughout the book.

We meet Lorna Irvine, who leaves the Scottish Island on the Isle of Kip and her parents and brother Jack 22 years ago. Loran  moves to London and has a thirteen year daughter Ella and becomes a teacher and now a deputy teacher. Jack also starts his own family with Alice and they had Molly. Lorna and Jack have a very fractured relationship even though Loran reaches out with letters Jack still holds back. That is until the pair come face to face when Loran returns. Cousins Ella and Molly become friends and Alice welcomes Lorna back but the question still loomed as to why Lorna left and never returned.

I thoroughly enjoyed that the story was told by Lorna and Alice and it gave insight to trial and tribulations both women have. The Isle of Kip showed a wholesome community and was like a cosy jumper when reading.

A very uplifting and wholesome story.
