Synopsis:
Some secrets aren't meant to be kept...

When Grace returns to Abi's life, years after they fell out at university, Abi can't help but feel uneasy. Years ago, Grace's friendship was all-consuming and exhausting.

Now happily married, Abi's built a new life for herself and put those days behind her. And yet as Grace slips back into her life with all the lethal charm she had before, Abi finds herself falling back under her spell...

Abi's husband, Rohan, can't help but be concerned as his wife's behaviour changes. As their happy home threatens to fall apart, he realises that there's something deeply unnerving about Grace. Just what influence does this woman have over his wife, and why has she come back now?

My thoughts:

If you want a chilling and sinister read then this is definitely for you. I am glad I nudged this up on my TBR pile.

The opening page is a transcript on Rohan about Abigail and from the get go he seemed at unease and something wasn't right. What is Rohan covering up? and If this was a visual programme I can almost imagine him being an animated character, using his hands a-lot and being fidgety and calm all in waves. Also what has happened to Abigail and why? So many whys this book throws up but cleverly keeps you on your toes.

Abigail is Rohan's wife, and is the the main protagonist. You can almost feel that she is always just slightly on edge and soon as Grace reappears in her life again (even via email) you have a sense that something is just not right but what is it and why lis Abi letting Grace back into her life if this is the case?

The Abi and Grace dynamic was an explosive one and some points during the book I really did question who is influencing who here. Although, most the time you will say it is Grace but a few red flags start to show for Abi too. But is this just the basis of their relationship. It seemed so exhausting at times that you just wish they would part ways.

One very interesting part to this story and hats off to the author is, how the house was used as a character; the eeriness and dark depth to it ,gave it an additional layer  and I LOVED IT!. The writing is well carved and descriptive that you can see it coming to life.

This physiological thriller hits the spot and it sends you in a spiral. It has depths of toxic relationships, the fragility of friendships, chaos, and obsession that you feel so woven into the story.
