My Thoughts

A quick and easy read with some super helpful hints and tips. I really liked the constant remainders to make a list and by writing things down they stand out more and become realistic.  Each chapter ended with summary points which was really handy reflection sections.

I liked how it encompassed six chapters:

Introduction: looks at the intention we make, the personal concept and definition of love, mutual respect and self love and most importantly finding you and loving yourself first. Self care and self love is incredibly important yet we seem to put everyone else first.

1. Let your emotions flow: We now begin to look more at starting to detach from the negative thoughts and energy and start the grievance process. I really liked the table of primary emotions and how to express then.

2. Your inner self- Starts to make you think about yourself and decluttering the mind. But also starting to feel comfortable with yourself. By not isolating yourself, making excuses and reducing some of that overthinking you can start to become more powerful.

3. And Breathe: Is about now progressing from the transitional period and creating time and space for self care. What I liked about this chapter is the narrative of self care is personal and unique to you and it is about finding what works and it means to you. But also giving you some useful tips that might be helpful to build that list.

4. Create your own happiness: "If you're hoping that someone else can make you happy, you've got the wrong idea about happiness".

5. The here and now: Looks at curating new hopes and dreams or even pursing the things you've put aside but now it is time to take that challenge. Learning about forgiving and forgetting is hard but essential in the process of healing.

6. Final takeaways: Summarises the key points to take away, being open and honest with your emotions and looking to the future.

If you want a self help book then I would recommend this, it is not overwhelming and easy to follow with some really good tips and tricks.
