Blurb

For fans of The White Lotus, Big Little Lies and The Hunting Party, Ellery Lloyd's The Club is an exhilarating, addictive read, telling a story of ambition, excess, and what happens when people who have everything – or nothing – to lose are pushed to their limit.

There’s no place like Home . . .

The Home Group is a collection of ultra-exclusive private members' clubs and a global phenomenon, and the opening of its most ambitious project yet – Island Home, a forgotten island transformed into the height of luxury – is billed as the celebrity event of the decade.

But as the first guests arrive, the weekend soon proves deadly – because it turns out that even the most beautiful people can keep the ugliest secrets and, in a world where reputation is everything, they'll do anything to keep it.

If your name's on the list, you're not getting out . . .

My Thoughts

An interesting take on the author name is in fact that it is not a sole author or a real name. Ellery Lloyd is the pseudonym for London-based husband-and-wife writing team Collette Lyons and Paul Vlitos. Collete is a journalist and editor and  the former content director of Elle and editorial director at Soho House amongst other work. Paul work at the University of Surrey and is the leader for Film, creative writing and English Literature.
The Club is the duos second novel.

The story unfolds with different perspectives and characters  from the guests and staff. Some being, the head of housekeeping Jess Wilson, Nikki, Neds personal assistant, Annie Sparks head of membership and Adam who is Neds brother. Ned Groom is the CEO and  Founder of this new project. I really liked this as the story switched up we get to see more leads and gain a good understanding of what is happening.

We get alot of backstory from the characters which I enjoyed as it gave a greater insight and helped the character development, everyone is harbouring a secret, pain and resentment that starts to rear its ugly head as tension builds within the group and resort.. The plots waves through past and present and some characters you like and some not so much.

A descriptive and dark book which I really enjoyed.
