FOUR FRIENDS. ONE MURDER. A GAME THEY CAN'T ESCAPE

'It was only a game'... Until a boy went missing.

'No one was meant to get hurt'... But a body has been found.

'Just some innocent fun'... Except one of them is a killer.

Ready or not, here I come.

It's time to play hide and seek again.

My Thoughts

The two timelines were a good way to follow the plot through and gave great insight to the story. Solving a murder mystery that happened over 20 years ago due to bones being recently discovered sends you on a journey of what really happened within the ground of politics and people that you trust.

I really liked the timeline it was narrated in as you follow the story/ plot through it just added that extra edge and suspense to the book. We get to hear from Bens POV from his time at boarding school and up-till his death and then from DI Fleet following the investigation through. At times you feel like there are some unanswered questions and potential gaps but it all comes together dramatically as the story concludes.

Not all the characters are likeable showing traits of being arrogant and  manipulative, however and some you take more of a side with showing more vulnerability. But overall the plot has themes of power, entitlement, loneliness and carving a place to belong and be loved.

My first read from the author and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
