My Thoughts
Well this was a page turner for sure!
What I enjoyed was the padded out plot and a good variety of suspects we meet along the way. There weren't too many that you'd get lost but enough to keep the suspense up and get you thinking.
Very early on we start to understand that the story is going to be touching on a sensitive topic and sets the scene of trouble ahead. It does go on to talk about rape and sexual violence so if this a trigger for you please be mindful in reading it.
It is a very complex plot and has an additional element of supernatural blend into it, which I wasn't expecting but it made it more interesting.
There are plenty of red herrings and dead ends to the plot that amplifies the story to get to the end, which I found a bit different to what I was expecting.
Jo was a strong character who went at great lengths to get to the bottom of the events. Even though she couldn't remember much, considering the rest of the small town did, It was interesting to go on the journey with her as she went to great lengths to try and uncover the truth.
