It has always been Maddie Willand’s dream to take over her father’s plant nursery. But after his sudden death, she is devastated to discover that she might lose The Potting Shed forever.
Maddie’s bossy older sister, Sabi, is joint owner of the nursery, and she’s convinced that the best thing for both of them would be to sell up.
Determined to keep the business going, Maddie can’t afford any distractions, but staying focused might be harder than she thinks. Especially when a major garden centre chain puts in an offer for the land – and her search for legal advice throws her into the path of attractive lawyer Ed…
As frost begins to fall over The Potting Shed, will Maddie find the strength to save her father’s legacy and open herself up to new beginnings?
My Thoughts
This is the perfect heartwarming read and I adore the cover, it is so inviting and cosy.
We get to meet sisters Maddie and Sabi and their father Tony. I adored the opening chapter, it was quaint and heart warming even though it was surrounding a will. However both sisters are opposites of each other; one can appears to more entitled, unsympathetic and having this hard exterior whilst the other, is more gentle, loving and passionate. Equally once the story evolve we get to learn how the characteristics of the sisters develop.
As the story unfolds, I really felt for Maddie, she wanted to achieve so much and wants to keep that connection with her father through the love of plants and the plotting shed. Not only does Maddie have to fight through this, she also has to go against her sister Sabi to try and keep this business. This then unfolds the certain positions the sisters are in.
We get to meet some different characters along the way that add another layer to this book. I really liked the character development and I was easily drawn into them. I can see a book 2 from this as I want to know the next story from the characters and the venture they are now going on.
The ending was sweet and wholesome which I am glad as I was rooting for success.
This is a really well written and felt so fluid and flowed really well whilst reading it.
Many thanks for such a lovely review xx
