Blurb

When WPC Jane Tennison is promoted to the role of Detective Constable in London's Bow Street CID, she is immediately conflicted.

While her more experienced colleagues move on swiftly from one criminal case to another, Jane is often left doubting their methods and findings. As she becomes inextricably involved in a multiple rape case, Jane must put her life at risk in her search for answers. Will she toe the line, or endanger her position by seeking the truth?

My Thoughts

Book 2 starts a good while after book 1 and Jane is coming to the end of her probationary period within her team. It is now 1974 and Jane manages to move in to a bigger team and shows her skills.

Jane's characters is becoming more tactile and growing in her job. It was also really interesting to read how the team around her responded to her and showed some respect to her new role and the person she is becoming. However some issues remain the same within the team such as sexism, questionable behaviour, and superiority complex!

Once again this is a jam packed book with more than one case to solve. Also the author did a good job in keeping the reader hooked on to the procedural work in an era where there was a lacking of technology but also did not become too technical in terminology.  A well descriptive book that makes it easy to visualise the scene.

What I also really liked was that some characters from Book 1 made an appearance and we got to see how their lives changed and what they are doing now.

All in all another fantastic book! I cannot see what Book 3 has install!!
