Iris Is More Than Ok- Audio Review
Iris is more than okay. Her perfect day is made up of work, run, sleep, repeat and she’s happy to have quiet Friday nights sitting alone on a bench in the park. That is until one day there’s someone on her bench – Hunter. Everything about him gets under Iris’s skin, but what she doesn’t know yet is that he’s about to upset more than just her routines…
In a bizarre coincidence, Hunter is hired as a consultant at the firm where Iris works as engineering manager, and further evidences his knack for knowing just what to say to irritate her. Sent away on a work trip together, their connection unexpectedly deepens, with unexplainable results.
Will Iris finally be able to face the memories that have been haunting her for years? Can her blossoming relationship with Hunter survive some brutal truths? Only one thing is certain: The spark between them is beyond Iris’s expertise, and there's no running away from it.

My Thoughts
I was delighted to be able to review this new audible release.
The plot sounded intriguing and I am also a fan of Jenna Coleman so both combination were perfect for me!
It was interesting to learn more about Iris and her background, we don't get front loaded information about her but it is teased through out the book. I prefer this way of getting to know the character because at times you think the character is a particular way but as you learn more about them you learn and gain a better understanding of their actions and choices.
I really enjoyed the slow burn build up between Iris and hunter! They way they communicate with each other as their relationships develops and have a deeper level of understanding was fab to read and is often missed in novels.
The novel touches on a few sensitive topics and even through narration which can be tricky were well done, we understand some characters going through; separation, grief, mental health and addictions such as alcoholism and gambling.
Although the novel touches on some sad/ sensitive topics, it is layered within humour and sarcasam which allows the book to soften but keep real at the same time.
In addition to the main characters the side characters were not overwhelming and blended into the story perfectly.
I felt that the ending was a bit rushed so would have preferred to have had more chapters on that but overall a good twist to then end.
