Blurb

I never wanted my daughter to go through what I did.

Now my kids are teenagers, they don’t need me to tie their shoelaces or pack their lunches. It’s been a hard journey as a single mom to get here. But now my first book is published, I can finally breathe and put the past behind me.

But on the last day of school, my 17-year-old daughter Maple disappears.

Everyone thinks me and Piper, my BFF, are total dorks. We watch YouTube makeup tutorials, eat Red Vines, and drink Diet Dr Pepper on our bedroom floor.

Then I discover my mom’s been lying to me my whole life.

I need to know who’s taken my daughter. And if it’s all my fault.

My Thoughts

My first read from the author and I really enjoyed it

You do get lots of introductions to characters and small parts of the plot every early on, but do keep on as it all starts to make sense as it develops.

It was most certainly an interesting take about a writer Ruby who is also writing a book that consists of her own traumatic past.

Rubys secret past made this enjoyable as you have lots of questions and how to a certain point she manages to have stayed away from it.That is until it all catches up with her.

The POV is told from several different people so you have to keep track and intertwined within all this are chapters which I came to realise were chapters from Rubys book/ past which starts to make sense.

I did guess the ending and it was an interesting read. It is not too long at 209 pages so I managed to finish it quickly.
