Saturday, 7:48 a.m. I wake to the sound of my phone ringing — and a sick, sinking feeling that I’m not alone. It’s the morning after my bachelorette party. Fourteen days until my wedding. I have the worst hangover of my life . . . and there’s a stranger in bed next to me.
I answer the call. It’s Suzanne, my best friend. ‘I don’t know how to say this, Maggie. It’s Angie, she’s dead.’
I can’t believe it. We were all together a few hours ago, dancing our hearts out at the club downtown.
It was meant to be my last night out as a single woman with my six oldest, closest friends. But now one of us is dead.
And one of us might have killed her.
And who’s this guy in my bed?
My Thoughts
This "Who has done it?" , murder/ mystery was a fabulous read.
This was one intense book that packed so much.
It had dark humour, lies, deceit and jealousy which with all these emotions and 5 main character women was lot but well written. Once the plot starts to develop, subplots and multilayer information starts to seep in.
The starting chapter is in the present day in 2013 by Margret as we then transport back in time to 1988 as the story begins.
6 friends: Angie (the deceased), Maggie (Margret and also bride to be ), Suzanne, Kelly, Carole, and Natasha. I liked the composition of this book, told from different POV 's you get to know more details about what each was thinking and how they felt in that time. They all had their own secrets and there was a-lot to unravel. I did not find it overwhelming and felt it worked well in this plot.
Just when you think the book ends, we get 2 epilogues that just heighten the book even more!!!
A really enjoyable, guessing thriller read, perfect for winter!
Thank you for being a part of the tour x
