My Thoughts

My first read from the author and it did leave an impression behind!

This is really a very intense book and I took me a short while to finish it. The themes within the book: Grief, Drug Abuse, Sexual Abuse (child & adult) & Suicide.

Different timelines of events fro past to present and the healing journey, gives an in-depth reality of Emma and her choices. 

The characters were well done, whereby we got to know them in different way and how impactful and eventful lives they lived. We get to know EM who is POV and I think we learn the most from her and I feel we get inside her mind. 

The book is fast through out and you go on this almost spiral alongside Emma. The author did a good job in highlighting not only the physical and mental impact on Emma but even those around her and the trail addiction leaves behind. 

A good debut novel.
