A lie might hurt, but the truth can kill.

All I ever wanted was to write a bestseller. And now, finally, I’ve done it. People ask me how, where did I get my inspiration?

But I can never tell them – because I have a secret.

No one knows what I did. Not my beloved husband or my busybody mother. And nobody can ever find out—it would destroy my career and I'd lose everything. Including my precious baby.

Then the threats begin.

The ominous emails, the sinister letters, and the chilling gifts left outside my door by someone who knows the truth. Someone who’s stalking me and wants to make me pay for my sins. I must do whatever it takes to silence them.

They say you’re only as good as your last book. I know you’re only as good as your next lie.

My Thoughts

An enjoyable psychological thriller.

We meet Sloan who has big aspirations to become an author, however at the moment she is making way as a personal assistant to a recognised author called Barbara.  And Sloan goes out of her to achieve her dream, however that comes at a great cost not to only herself but another involved.

The premise of the plot is really interesting and intriguing, it did slow down a bit at times but soon picked up. The chapters are short so you find yourself getting through it and the twists are paced out that sometimes it does not give you time to fully digest what has just happened which makes it twisty.

The book looks at self- identity focusing on Slaons characters and her actions, filled with deceit, lies , betrayal but layers with truth and trust  in a complex format for human mind and interaction.

As much as this is thriller, there was plenty of comedy and sarcasam in this book which I enjoyed reading.

A  thriller packed with twists. I would recommend this book.
