Meet Andi.
Devoted wife.
Adoring mom.
Killer?

My daughter’s missing. And the police think I killed her.

Monday, 8 a.m. I go to wake up eight-year-old Bella to get her ready for school.

She’s not there.

My husband Charlie and I put her to bed as usual the night before. We kissed her goodnight. Just like we always do.

Things like this don’t happen to people like us. Not in a quiet little town like Spencer, Michigan.

Detective Anne Briar is leading the case. I know she suspects I’m not telling her everything. I see it in the way her eyes narrow ever so slightly. And she’s right.

No one must ever know what really happened the night Bella disappeared.

My Thoughts

Parents worst nightmare comes true as Andi and Charlie's 8 year old Bella goes missing.

Detective Brair was an intense character and by all means needed to be within this plot. She is eager to get to the truth and find Bella.

Andi's character was highly suspicious as she does her best to get the detectives off her. IS she a worried a parent who is frustrated that the police are focusing on her and not the real perpetrator. Or is she not willing to part with information that could lead to her.

Same with Charlie, he is a farther who has lost his child but you flip between is he really a good actor or a grievig father.  I liked that the author kept the focus on the parents and centred around them and what they had/ are going through.

The author did a good job in character development but also not giving too much away.  The plot seemed to smoothly flow with enough tension build that you want to keep reading.

This book was intense and as you start to think ahead and consider who actually committed a crime and who is telling the truth sends you spinning.

An enjoyable read and I would recommend.
