Blurb

My husband says he loves me. So why did the police come knocking on my door at dawn?

Eight years of marriage. A beautiful home in Connecticut. A perfect son.

And one dead girl floating in a university pool.

I told myself Derek’s affair didn’t matter. I could forgive him. Forget her.

But that was before she died.

Before detectives showed up in our kitchen.

Before my perfect life cracked wide open.

Now I don’t know what scares me more—

That my husband might be a killer. Or that I might be the only one who can prove he is.

My Thoughts

I never say no to a Joffe book, always deliver on some brilliant reads!

How interesting is this blurb, I was hooked straightaway. From the start I already started to question everyone and I think some of that may be due to the blurb because I already start to guess everyones motives.

We get the POV from Evelyn, Derek and Josie and each brought a different perspective to the events that would take place. Each brought forward questions and guessing motives to their developing characters which made the plot fast paced and intriguing.

Evelyn was living a dream , with a seemingly perfect marriage, a husband who is a teacher and a boy to complete their family. That is until Evelyn dream turns in to a nightmare and ultimately how many times can she forgive or call it a coincidence  for her husband.

Derek is actually a short character which was surprisingly as I thought he may have dominated the plot but this was well played by the author.

Now Josie's character was perfectly done, she is the nosey neighbor who gets to the bottom of everything and makes sure of it in the process.

As the story plays out more characters start to untangle and drop in/ out which makes it more complex and layered as you attempt to guess which direction it is going in.

I really enjoyed this book and would recommend!
