Blurb

Lottie Potts is happy enough - or so she thinks. Her life is slowly ticking away as she spends her days watching old films and daydreaming about another, better, version of herself. But Lottie isn’t one for change. That is until a blonde bombshell blows into town and knocks her husband Daniel completely off his feet. Lottie is forced to take a long hard look at herself. She is fat, in her forties and thoroughly fed up. Does she fight for her husband and the safe predictable life she knows? Or is revenge, like her favourite ice cream, a dish best served cold?

With her trusty circle of girlfriends and a surprising return from a charming face from her past, Lottie embarks on a transformative journey. Buckle up for the rollercoaster ride of laughter and tears as Lottie navigates the twists and turns of her reinvention, discovering the genuine essence of life along the
way.

My Thoughts

This was a fun book to read.

We meet  Lottie who is in her 40's now having to reinvent her life after her husband became unfaithful.

What I also enjoyed in this book as that relatable age character. Usually the Female lead is either really young or old and there is no in between. So I think Lottie will be relatable to a good demographic of people.

It was nice to read that Lottie had an army of people to help pick her up and continue to push and move forward rather than bed rot this chapter of her life.  Lottie goes through a rollercoaster of lots of up's and downs and you can feel the paused moments that help evaluate the next steps and the consequences that will yield from them.

The book carries such emotion but not just sadness and frustration but humour and joyful moments.

The cover of this book is wonderful!

I also love that the author is donating a small sales proceeds to the Epilepsy Society and Great Ormond Street children's hospital.

I would recommend you give this book a read and I am looking forward to what will be next.
