Christmas At Hollybush Farm- Blog Tour
A cosy, heartwarming read to ease us into the seasonal holidays! I’ve read a few books by this author before and have always enjoyed their comforting blend of warmth, humour, and heartfelt storytelling — so I was really looking forward to this one. I’m happy to say it didn’t disappoint.
We meet Jemima and Matthew, a couple who work in the hotel and corporate events business. They’re a team both professionally and personally, planning large-scale events and chasing big opportunities. When a new work project comes along, it promises to be demanding but exciting — the kind of challenge they’ve been working toward. Just before the holidays, they visit Jemima’s father on his farm for what should have been a quick, festive visit. But their time there takes an unexpected turn when they receive some devastating news that changes everything.
From this moment, the story gently shifts focus from city life and corporate ambitions to the warmth, charm, and hard realities of rural living. The pacing is steady, allowing the reader to really settle into the characters’ world, and there’s a lovely balance between the serious moments and the light-hearted, uplifting ones that make this a very enjoyable read.
I really liked Jemima’s character — she’s full of drive, creativity, and a genuine desire to make things work, even when life throws challenges her way. She puts her heart into every project, and I admired her determination to not only help save her father’s farm but to do it in a way that feels modern and hopeful. The way the author incorporated social media into the story was refreshing; it wasn’t just a side note but an important tool for connection and change. It showed how social media can be a positive force — a way to gain visibility, build community, and make a real difference.
Matthew, on the other hand, provides a sharp contrast. He’s clearly not built for farm life, and he doesn’t try to hide it. His discomfort and reluctance are obvious, and while his reactions can be frustrating, they also make sense for his character. When he finally leaves, it doesn’t come as a shock — and honestly, it’s almost a relief, both for Jemima and for the reader!
And then we meet Llew, whose arrival feels perfectly timed. He brings a sense of calm, understanding, and quiet strength to the story, balancing Jemima’s determined energy. Their connection grows naturally, and I found myself really rooting for them — even through the more difficult or uncertain moments. There’s something very grounding and genuine about their relationship, and it develops with the kind of tenderness that fits the tone of the book perfectly.
I also appreciated how the humour flowed subtly throughout the story. It’s never forced or over the top — just small, well-placed touches that make you smile and add to the warmth of the narrative. That balance between light and serious themes made the story feel real and emotionally satisfying.
Overall, this is a sweet, uplifting, small-town romance with the perfect mix of heart, humour, and holiday spirit. It’s the kind of book that makes you want to curl up with a blanket and a cup of hot chocolate while reading about people finding new beginnings, love, and purpose in unexpected places.
If you’re looking for something comforting, character-driven, and full of seasonal charm, this is definitely one to pick up — especially if you’ve enjoyed the author’s previous works. It’s a story about resilience, community, and rediscovering what really matters when life doesn’t go to plan.
