My Thoughts

This was such an interesting and unique book that stayed with me long after I finished it.
The plot centers around seven children, with the story primarily told through Ed, the main narrator. After experiencing a deeply traumatic childhood, Ed is adopted and finally begins to live what seems like a better, more stable life. However, it quickly becomes clear that his past hasn’t loosened its grip on him. Memories start to surface slowly and unpredictably, and the more Ed remembers, the more questions begin to form. His curiosity becomes almost obsessive, and as he searches for answers, he starts to unravel. There’s a constant sense of urgency in his need to understand the truth behind his past and the events that shaped his childhood.

As the story unfolds, we gradually learn more about the other six children and the reasons they were taken in the first place. The pacing is strong, revealing information at just the right moments to keep you engaged without giving too much away. The introduction is especially well done—within the first few pages, you’re immediately hooked and eager to uncover what’s really going on.

The author does an excellent job of storytelling, pulling the reader deeper into the narrative and maintaining suspense throughout. The writing style makes it easy to connect with the characters, particularly Ed, whose emotional struggles feel raw and believable. The characters are well developed and layered, with clear motivations and flaws. There’s a good balance between likeable and unlikeable characters, and some characters may surprise you as the story progresses. Everything eventually links together, which makes the payoff feel satisfying and rewarding.

Overall, this book blends mystery, emotional depth, and psychological tension very effectively. If you enjoy reading books based on conspiracies, hidden truths, and thought-provoking theories—especially those that keep you questioning what’s real—this book is definitely worth reading.
