Blurb

A heartfelt collection of modern poetry, showing the light through the darkness.

This beautiful book is a collection of Modern Poetry, free writing, and spoken word pieces. In this book, Amy discusses mental health, trauma, relationships, love, and family. Written in 2020 and published in 2021 after many lockdown epiphanies.

My Thoughts

A selection of poems going through life experiences and beautifully translated on to pages.  I have never read a whole book that is dedicated just to poems but the author has well executed this.

The poems were sectioned off into chapters called: Breaking, Healing, Imagining, Loving and Growing.  And then poems with their own unique titles were layered in between the chapters.

'They say' and 'me' are  my all time favourite as it resonated so much to me "‘The problem is... she’s just too sensitive" is something I have heard so many times. 'Emotionally Distant Pumpkin' is one that I love the title of. Page breaks include some art and quotes which is also very nice and adds a unique aspect to the book.

It portrays and freezes a part of time that is significant and is full of emotion and honesty.  Each time you re-read the poem you gain a different perspective from it. I liked that the poems were short and the right length to fully engage with them.

I thoroughly enjoyed this poetry book!
