My thoughts

Anyone who hasn’t spent much time in a library recently is missing out; if you aren’t there, you have no idea how magical a place it really is.

Written from the POV of Amanda and Collette, chapters alternate between them mainly but we hear from Amanda from Chapter 5 onwards.  I found this really interesting as we get to learn more about them and follow them through this journey and their day to day lives.

You have such empathy for Collette and you feel the grief that she is going through loosing her sister Arabella. She is so determined to find out who the driver was and she will not rest until she uncovers the real truth. I liked the progress of Collettes' character, we join her in yoga, grief support group and the general murmurs that go on in her mind when she is contemplating her next move.
Collette forms a support from Jackson in the group who seemingly helps her and they 'bond' over grief and he helps Collette seek justice and revenge from the person who caused her sisters death. We learn Jackson  has lost his wife to cancer. We get to hear more from him towards the end that provides some extra twists.

Amanda's world slowly starts to unfold and she slowly starts to fear she isn't safe anywhere nor at work where she feels someone has been intruding around to being followed. The smell of Jasmine seems to trigger her too which makes her feel uneasy and queasy. This sets a domino effect as Amanda goes on a mission to find out who is behind all this and what do they actually want. But we learn that Amanda has also suffered a loss and events unfold come to a climactic conclusion.

The ending!!!! OH MY!!!!! I was not expecting it all!! Took me by surprise and it was brilliant..
It was a fast paced book that was punchy to read.

This Quote came early in the book but stuck with me throughout and after...“I’m drowning now, or that’s what my therapist tells me, and that’s why I’m here.”
