My thoughts
If you was a super dark, fast paced twisted book then this sure hits all them points! My first read from the author and I wasn't disappointed.
I really liked that we get 3 different POVS from: Anna the surgeon, Margot the theatre nurse and Rachel the Detective. In doing so it keeps us on our toes with what is going to happen next. We get to find out some back stories about each and each sharing their perspectives added a good multi layer of tension and delving into some of the plot holes. In turn you will become angry at the characters and feel empathy for them in the next breath. There seemed to be a switch once you found out more details about each individual and came to understand why they were reacting as they were.
Although all 3 women have their own stories in some way their lives become intertwined from past and present events. It is tough not to go further into it as it will give away spoilers to the book! There a few bland characters which helps round off the book considering there is so much going on!
Lots of medical terminology is used and surgery set up which may confuse (or gross out) some but I really liked that the author didn't shy away from this as I felt it really lifted the description and plot. Even though the plot is twisty with lots of tension, it holds much more than that, such as the complex relationships, empowerment, tragedy, remorse and resilience.
I didn't know where the plot will lead but a dramatic and well paced book that I have really enjoyed!
