Blurb

My baby is due in two weeks. Hand on my bump, I swear to my little girl, I won’t be anything like my mother.

I’m walking home after the perfect baby shower, enjoying the cool summer evening breeze. I can’t wait to rest my aching feet.

I’m almost at my door when the world goes black.

I wake with a blinding pain in my head. Beeping of machines in background. I open my eyes to a white room.

Panic jolts through me. I reach down to my bump, to where my baby should be. But she’s not there.

Then my fingers find a rough line of stitches.

Someone has taken my baby.

Out of me.

My Thoughts

If you are after a creepy but dramatic book then this is the one for you!! The Blurb perfectly enticed me in and kept me hooked!

I really liked the dual timeline where we visit the past, but we gain a real insight to these chapters of the books and what the characters are going through. We get to learn more about Emilys childhood and her sibling and her distraught relationship with her mother . There is a-lot of childhood trauma and sadness/ survival skills they picked up early on.

The premise of the past builds on the present. The book then returns to the present and as the horrors unfold and people are wanting to put the information together. where has Lucas who is Emily's ex- Partner taken there baby Freya and why is this all happening.

Emily's character goes through an emotional rollercoaster of emotions especially as she has had her newborn taken away from her and being attacked on her baby shower. This was not at all what she had planned and her past is creeping back in.

Emily also had her close friends in Michelle and Jack but even these friendships are tested whilst the hunt continues for baby Freya.

This is a must read and I can't wait to see what the author has next!
