Blurb
When three teens track down a missing chihuahua to an abandoned theme park, they stumble upon a chilling discovery: a corpse, strangled by his own camera strap.
The victim was meant to be 400 miles away in London, where he'd promised a lot of people a lot of money. But every one of them has a solid alibi. As Haigh, Cherry, and Sunrise get pulled into the murder investigation, they uncover mafia connections, a still-operating ghost train, and gossiping grannies, revealing their quiet village is far more dangerous than they ever imagined.
My Thoughts
This was a fantastic book to read. I really enjoyed it from start to finish and took it as my holiday book.
I really liked how each character was well developed and we could see their growth as the plot moved along. Listening to some background stories were heartbreaking. Even the relationship amongst each other was enjoyable to read, they created a bond and unity to get through this crisis, even with their own deep rooted fears they supported each other , were daring and courageous all the way til the end.
You do keep guessing who is the murder and keep questioning all those around, even those with good intentions! I found myself being a detective as we get lots of threads and evidence, although some of it is red herring and you have to keep going.
The mystery element of the town and those who live in there and how people are connected was fun. Some characters were more secretive and complex than others and it was inclusive to add a character with ADHD which is not something I have read often and you got a good sense of it too with the authors writing style.
It is a very fast paced book and hope there is another book/ series to follow. I would recommend!
