Blurb

Welcome to Port Berry, where love and Christmas miracles are just around the corner.

Alice Dipple is determined to make her first Christmas running Port Berry’s Seaview B&B a success.

But when her childhood best friend, Jamie Stark, returns after years away, the Christmas season suddenly feels a little brighter — and a lot more complicated.

Jamie was once the love of Alice’s life, until a dreadful mistake tore them apart. He’s returned to Port Berry for a fresh start, and hoping to win back the woman he’s never stopped loving.

Alice is focused on her business. But as she and Jamie are drawn back together by the cosy charm of the B&B, the warmth of the community, and their shared history, she begins to wonder if there’s a second chance for them after all.

But just when it seems like Christmas could bring them their new beginning, Jamie’s troubled past resurfaces, threatening everything they have built.

Will the magic of the season be enough to bring them together — and this time forever?

My Thoughts

Although this book is part of a series, it reads perfectly well as a stand-alone. The blurb gives enough context to set the stage and draw you in.

We meet Alice, who has taken over the running of the B&B after the passing of its beloved former owner, Mabel. Determined to honor Mabel’s legacy and her love of the seasons and holidays, Alice pours her heart into the project — but as the busy season approaches, she finds herself overwhelmed and scrambling to make plans.

Jamie’s return adds another layer of tension and nostalgia. As Alice’s childhood best friend, he carries a past that makes readers wary — will he protect Alice and be able to win her over this? The author builds this dynamic beautifully, creating a believable sense of history and emotional stakes.

One of the book’s strengths is how vividly it draws the reader into the life of this small community. You can feel the connections, the traditions, and the undercurrents of change, making you truly invested in the characters’ lives.

Overall, this was a wonderfully cozy read — especially perfect for the holiday season. It combines warmth, community, and just enough intrigue to keep you turning the pages.
