Christos
My wife left me for a man considered to be my friend, and my mother thinks I ran away from what was left of my life. Nothing could be further from the truth. I drove away with a smile on my face. I was free. Free to start a new job, a new life, and hopefully find a new love. A few weeks in, I meet the drop-dead gorgeous, Cassie Henderson, ‘Actor and Entertainer’, and I’m smitten. But she is fighting me tooth and nail, and I have a fat lip and bloody nose to prove it. She is the most infuriating woman I have ever met. She never listens and is trying to wreck everything before it even gets started. Now I find out I have to share a house with her. Things might be looking up.

Cassie
I’m an actor who Iives in a lovely house and a fiercely independent girl about town. Single and loving it. Only I’m not. I’ve got little or no work to look forward to, I can barely afford food once I’ve paid the rent, and as to being single and loving it, the best I can say is I’m single. Love doesn’t come into it. Nor will it. Been there, tried that, it doesn’t work, and I’ll fight anyone who tries to sneak in. Or so I thought. That was before I met H. I let him in, and he led me on by not telling me the truth. Now all I want to do is get him out of my life. But guess what? He’s my new housemate.
Of all the houseshares in all the world, he had to walk into mine. The question What am I going to do about it?

My Thoughts

This was such a fun and heart-warming romantic comedy to dive into. From the very beginning, the story is filled with vibrant, varied characters who add colour and charm to every chapter, but the real highlight is our two leads, Christos and Cassie. I absolutely loved following their journey. Their connection felt genuine and layered, and I constantly found myself rooting for them—wanting to give them a little push whenever they hesitated or held back.

The alternating POV between Christos and Cassie was perfect for this story. It added so much depth and clarity, letting us see exactly what each of them was feeling in key moments. Their internal thoughts, doubts, and little bursts of hope made their relationship feel even more real and easy to invest in.

Humour plays a huge role in this book, and it definitely delivered. There were plenty of laugh-out-loud lines and moments of lighthearted chaos that kept the story fun and engaging from start to finish. But what I appreciated most was that beneath the humour, there were meaningful themes woven throughout.

The book isn’t just about falling in love—it's about falling back in love, rediscovering what once felt lost, and recognising the importance of love in all forms. The friendships in this story were especially refreshing; they were supportive, heartfelt, and just as impactful as the romantic arc. It’s not often that friendship gets this much emotional weight in a rom-com, and I really enjoyed that.

One of my favourite elements was the underlying message that if something is truly meant for you—whether a person, a moment, or an opportunity—it will find its way to you eventually. That theme was handled beautifully and gave the story an uplifting, hopeful tone.

This was my first read from this author, and I genuinely enjoyed every moment. I’ll definitely be looking out for whatever they publish next!
