Blurb

I left everything behind. My name. My phone. My life.

My husband said he loved me. That I was everything to him.

But staying meant dying.

You don't hurt the people you love - do you?

Now I'm miles away, wearing someone else's clothes, driving a car I bought with cash, and sleeping in B&Bs under a false name.

Every second I'm waiting for him to catch up.

But I've got a plan. I've thought of everything.

Except this one secret.

The one thing I couldn't leave behind.

And if he finds out- He'll never let me go.

My Thoughts

The blurb instantly drew me in, and I went into this book expecting a gripping psychological thriller — and it absolutely lived up to those expectations. From the very first chapter, the author sets a chilling tone filled with fear, isolation, and uncertainty. You can almost feel the loneliness of the characters, and it pulls you straight into their world. That emotional tension builds so naturally that you’re constantly wondering what could possibly happen next.

One of the things I enjoyed most was the use of multiple points of view. Getting to hear from different characters added so much depth to the story. It made the plot more layered and intriguing because each perspective gave a slightly different insight into what was happening. Instead of being led in a straight line, you’re gently pushed in different directions, questioning what’s true and who can be trusted. Just when you think you’ve figured out who the “good” and “bad” characters are, the story shifts again and makes you rethink everything.

The tension is incredibly well-crafted throughout. The author doesn’t rush anything but instead builds the suspense slowly and steadily with every chapter. The short chapters worked really well for this type of story — they kept the pacing tight and made it so easy to say “just one more,” until you’ve read far more than you planned. Each chapter seemed to end with a small reveal or lingering question, which made it impossible to put the book down.

I also appreciated how emotionally engaging the story was. It wasn’t just about shocking twists or dramatic moments — although there were plenty of those — but also about understanding the characters’ fears, motives, and vulnerabilities. That emotional depth made the twists even more impactful when they came.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book and would definitely recommend it to anyone who loves psychological thrillers with strong character development, suspenseful writing, and unexpected twists. It kept me hooked from start to finish, and even after turning the last page, I found myself still thinking about it.
