Knit One Heist One- Blog Tour
Janus Lodge is the kind of place you can’t help but want to move into — although, judging by its residents, you’d better be prepared for plenty of chaos along the way!
When Sylvia Abercrombie and her wonderfully unconventional neighbours discover that their beloved home is under threat from a particularly ruthless developer, they refuse to simply stand by and let it happen. What unfolds is an entertaining, mischievous and genuinely funny fight to save the place they call home.
The characters are undoubtedly the heart of this story. They are outspoken, stubborn, fearless and gloriously unapologetic, and I absolutely adored getting to know them. Each resident feels completely individual, with their own past, secrets, regrets, dreams and opinions. Most importantly, the author never reduces them to their age — they are complex, vibrant people who still have plenty of life, spirit and mischief left in them.
Their friendship and loyalty to one another were what really made this book special for me. There’s courage, recklessness, plenty of humour and more than a little scandal, but beneath it all is a wonderful sense of community. I found myself completely invested in these characters and quietly cheering them on.
A charming, funny and feel-good read filled with memorable characters, unexpected moments and plenty of heart. Janus Lodge is a place I was very reluctant to leave.
There’s plenty of mischief, unexpected moments and laugh-out-loud humour throughout, but it’s the sense of friendship and community that really stayed with me.
A fun, feel-good read with plenty of personality. If you’re looking for something light, funny and full of heart, I’d definitely recommend giving this one a go.
